[Stoves] Pico Hydro power generation calculations

Jeff -

Agreed on the amazing prowess of electricity. If the AAs are disposable,
however, the cost per kWh is huge - hundreds of dollars per kWh. But with
rechargeables and PV, the cost can get down to dollars per kWh. (I haven't
done that calculation for a while, so those numbers are from memory.) In
large US residential PV applications and no storage, we are down to about
25-35 c/ kWh (and I hear $1/Watt within years).

Dear Jim & All,

The power of two AA batteries is truly amazing. For every meal they can
lift 200 lbs of water on to my roof. And if one could use them for three
meals they would be able to lift 600 lbs of water on to the top of my
roof. That's a lot of work for such a small device.

Truly a miracle,

Jeff
