Sorry to be jumping in so late -- but one of my ongoing research projects
is Cat heating.

I suppose 1700 F is not hot enough??

Cat heaters should work on producer gas???

Gas Catalytic Infrared Heater Operates at 1700° F, Allowing Faster Cure Times

Gas catalytic technology has been used for decades as a safe, cost
effective means of curing. Wisconsin Infrared Systems’ SunCat™, a Gas
Catalytic Medium-Wave Heater, is used to cure solvent based, water based
and powder coatings on plastics, wood, wood composites, steel, sheet metal,
aluminum and fiberglass. 

No other gas catalytic IR heater cures faster than SunCat™. This state of
the art heater uses the latest technology in catalyst and operates at
temperatures up to 1700° F. The heaters utilize a unique centralized blower
system that feeds oxygen to the face of each heater, converting it into a
thermoreactor. The blower also acts as a convective source of air, to heat
parts that are not in “line of sight” of the infrared. In addition to high
temperature operation, Wisconsin Infrared Systems also offers a lower
temperature gas catalytic heater for those coatings requiring lower
temperature.

SunCat™ gas catalytic heaters are offered in various sizes and heat inputs
from 14,500 to 132,000 BTUH and can be installed independently for spot
curing or inside oven enclosures. They are used in standard and custom
ovens, batch or conveyor styles, and can be provided with many additional
features such as: full PLC control, operation on different fuels, Watch
Dog® Oven Management System and full installation as a turn-key system.
They require minimal maintenance and are CE approved for use with solvents.
