Well from his previous posts he only needs 1170C (cone 3 from your
earlier post) but considered it desirable to be able to fire at a
higher temperature as this would enable him to fire a cheaper
(possibly better performing) clay mixture.

I doubt Crispin will miss out on any ideas he thinks he can use, he's
in business churning out a commercial product.
