Is it filled at the start and then lit at the top, or is it only with a small
amount of fuel even at the start, and mostly burning fuel that is added in
over the top edge to drop down for a conventional burn? Please describe the
lighting process in detail.

Because it does not have the forced air of the "fan-blasters" or "fan-jet"
technology found in the Philips stove, it is not in that category either.
