Dear AD and K

This is the sort of thing I was worried about leaving a drum of char in a 
Hoffman kiln.  It seems that it is a departure from the way things are done 
now so there might ne unintended consequences.

I haven't done this myself, but as I understand from others, a drum of
ignited charcoal will "breathe."
