I've definitely been thinking on these lines.   I will need a heat  
source for my new greenhouse/shed this year.

To get a long-burning  wood stove I want to dig a pit, cast a cement  
sleeve, add steps and a cement floor and build the stove in the pit.

Please remember basic safety.  Any trench you're going to work in  
should be wider than your shoulders.


No, I won't explain how I know that.
