Hello Paul, and Stovers,
Assuming a world population of 6.6 billion and an average family/household
size of 5, there would be in use already 1.32 billion stoves.
Perhaps 500 million or more of the existing stoves need improving to become
substantially cleaner and more efficient. That is a lot of work and
opportunity for the 2,000 or so stovers in this list.
It is encouraging to see that developed and less developed countries are
working together to make millions of stoves better.
The rich and the poor no longer live so far from each other because physical
travel time has speeded up and then there is documentary film and television
and the internet which allows us to see in great detail how other families
live.
In this topic of biomass fueled stove I am a wide eyed wanderer, enjoying
witnessing the discoveries, successes and even failures (from which we can
learn) of the many who are working hard to make our planet a better, safer
place.
My own concept of biomass cook stoves has expanded from stove
design/production/marketing to biomass fuels production/distribution.
