Tom I was not objecting to anything, just pointing out the 
difficulties and suggesting it could be better discussed at 
[gasification], I still think the idea has legs and may have run 
with more capable management.

Cardiff University had at least two projects running from 1997 to 
date. The gt we used was one that had been developed for direct 
firing with sawdust by, or with input from, James Engineering 
Turbines. Some development went on to a collaborative effort with a 
Japanese manufacturer. 

Our project aimed to avoid the problem of alkali metal deposits 
alloying with the power turbine by keeping them from the gas stream, 
the JET design aimed to keep them too small to penetrate a boundary 
layer effect.
