Thanks for your comments.
As I understand it, ethan can only transform to vinegar under aerobic
conditions... no air, no vinegar. Also, I think if an ethanol solution
is aerated, it will turn to vinegar, regardless of ethanol
concentration. (Presuming say 2 to 20% ethanol, and inoculation with the
appropriate "biological converters.")
I don't know the chemistry of the transformation from Vinegar to
Methane. However, there is the problem of the aerobic environment
necessary to convert ethanol to vinegar.
