[Stoves] Stove Tests - new protocol

Dear Friends

I am starting this as a new Subject because it is not for oil cookers only.

While this is a little premature I want to convey the news that ProBEC
(Programme for Biomass and Energy Conservation) in SADC countries has
developed a new stove testing protocol. This was done in March and the
announcement of it has been delayed pending the development of relevant
spreadsheets to accompany it. There is one for charcoal stove testing and
another for wood stove testing.

The protocol was developed and approved by:

Crispin Pemberton-Pigott (ProBEC - SADC)
Andreas Michel (ProBEC North)
Piet Visser (Biomass Development Group)

The list of tests below is of great importance, but as everyone knows they
are not done in the same fashion or to the same standard.

It is my sincere hope that we can general agreement on a testing protocol
that is easy to follow and which provides scientifically valid outputs.

Regards
Crispin

So let's compare the performance and emissions of these stoves in an
organized fashion.

For a start we have recent comparative tests by U of Capetown (Philip Lloyd)
and Aprovecho Research Center (for PCIA "Comparing Cookstoves"). Plus we
probably have performance and emissions testing from stove suppliers.
