OK but my point is that the stall characteristic of these small pc psu
fans is such that they don't produce a sensible pressure, a
centrifugal one will.
Crisping pointed out an axial fan is for creating a large air flow
against negligible resistance, Jim's stove has a tortuous air path
which ends in some small air holes, I think it would be more effective
with a higher pressure in the plenum. The illustration of the
secondary flame also leads me to believe this.
Also consider that even in a whole wood gasifier we would expect a
secondary to primary ratio of >5:1, the tlud should be even greater as
the primary air does not gasify the char, indeed it only needs to
provide enough combustion to bring the fuel up to pyrolysis
temperature, so with the same plenum supplying both primary and
secondary air I would expect more or larger holes for the secondary
air.
