[Stoves] making Charcoal for biochar at home

Hi guys,

Just a simple request for some homescale biochar production in the UK. 
Wanna turn a large pile of seasoned logs into biochar soon.
Any good projects for producing a kiln at home with usual materials or 
refinements on the oil drum plans available?
Obviously I'd like to use Robert Flan's microstove or similar but save 
not having one of them, or knowing how to make one, I'd like to make 
some quick, and hopefully, not too dirty stuff soon as.
