Andrew and all,

Thanks for the excellent comments. I will be slowly working on this. One
question now about:

Is that different from other hanging lamps?

What diameter for the reflective dome? about 40 cm (16 inches) ??

Do I want the flame to be onto the dome?

I'll first take the easy option of forced air to accomplish the heat task,
especially because the forced-air unit is my main effort now in India.

Not really. I am thinking of taking my cooking unit as it currently
exists and
placing a dome above it, and then suspending it (or putting it on a stand). I
know my fuels and combustion times and controls on the stove at ground level,
so I just raise it and change the function from pot to reflector dome.

Assistance with the technical aspects of the dome (materials to use or avoid,
size, shape, etc.) would be much appreciated.

Paul
