[Stoves] [Gasification] Larger WoodGas Stove

The company that made your Woodgas stove is working on at least a slightly larger one (more fuel capacity, longer run time we can hope). Don't forget to tell us all what (somewhat) you want out of a stove (firepower, burn length, etc.) - where there is a specific need, engineers try to find a specific solution. And sometimes they just try to push a solution even when there is not a problem...

You "testimonial" about the Reed Woodgas Campstove is much appreciated.
Most discussions about these very small gasifiers is on the Stove
Listserv, and
I invite you to consider joining that listserv, or reading its
Archives. http://bioenergylists.org
Several of us are working on larger woodgas units, commonly called TLUD
gasifiers. The only one I know of in production for indoor use is the Daxu
cookstove in China. It is not available outside of China as far as I
know. It
won an Ashden Award this year. Google Ashden Award to see discussions and
some video images.
My current work is in India. My latest TLUD cookstove is currently
being tested
here. With the chimney version, it might be used indoors. (But here the
climate is warm and so outdoor cooking is an easy option, with less costs.) I
am hoping for a price of less than US$20 per basic unit, but that would not be
anything like what would be desired for a North American/European residence.
You can check www.chipenergy.com for a view of the Biomass Grill with a
variation of updraft gasification which, with chimney but not intended for
indoor usage, could be of interest for you.
I am sure that whenever woodgas cookstoves (or related microgasifiers) for
residential uaage become available, the Stoves Listserv will be one of the
earliest places to see such notifications.
