Hi Dean
We have been involved in research for 21 years and find errors are not
uncommon in scientific reports. We have been involved in project
partnerships and have had a number of occassions where errors have occurred
in reports and or lab tests within these projects. Everyone makes mistakes
and it's a learning process to find strategies to minimize them and
constantly comb over data.
We have confidence in Aprovechos efforts and that of their partners to
undertake this assessment and appreciate the fact they took on the study
with limited outside compensation. We no longer have any significant
concerns with how our stove was tested and the results obtained. We hope
that further funding is available in the future from donor agencies to help
further refine and improve testing procedures and support more regional
stove testing.
One thing I like about living in Quebec, is that it is very common here to
have "healthy and active" discussions like we had on the stoves list without
harm to further relationships. I hope as a group, occassional active
discussions can continue to develop our vibrant community of individuals and
organizations working in this important field.
regards
