Dear Kevin

Thanks for clearly stating that salient point. People interchangeably use
the terms global warming and climate change in order to retain as large an
audience as possible.

If you look for papers on tropical cooling and Arctic heating, you will find
both.

Above all, keep a cool head.

Crispin

Dear Crispin

Thanks very much for your rational analysis of what the various media
are telling us about "global warming."

Note also that "global warming" is very different from "global climate
change." To illustrate the point, if the Northern Hemisphere warmed by 5
C and the Southern Hemisphere cooled by 5 C, there would be no global
warming, in that the re is still no change in the average global
temperature. However, with such temperature differences, there would be
enormous changes in weather patterns, and if these temperature
differentials were maintained, there would be enormous climate change.

Best wishes,

Kevin
