Dear Steven Diatomaceous earth melts at 1710 C <http://www.ilo.org/public/english/protection/safework/cis/products/icsc/dta sht/_icsc02/icsc0248.htm> so you are unlikely to have a problem with melting in a conventional stove. How are you binding it? Regards Crispin
