Yes, they have "MOLER SOLID" stamped on the side so that explaines
how
my glass blowing friends managed to melt them.
I have already been experimenting with castable insulated cement
purchased from Purimachos of Bristol. I am at this moment being
warmed by a rocket heating stove with a flue liner cast from this.
This insulating cement seems quite dense, being insulative enough
for
piza ovens but perhaps to heavy for the rocket stove flu,so I cast
the
liner in situe, using a short piece of plastic water main as the
internal former and about 15 mm thick and backed it up with ceramic
fiber from the same supplier. This is getting quite hi tech' and
expensive and I'm probably running this course at a loss already due
to low bookings. (It's the weekend of 9/10 may just outside Totnes
Devon UK if anyones interested-contact Graeme on 07986o31365 or

I'll probably settle for the cast flue liner with ash or vermiculite
fill but the flue will need holding in place and will be quite
vulnerable to knocks in a 20l vege oil can portable stove.
I was considering using the cardboard tubes that carpet comes on as
burn out flue formers, if I can get them in the right diameter.
Steve.
