[Stoves] Fuel regions

Dear Stovers,
A suggested process to get the right stoves for the fuel available might
go as follows:
An NGA goes into a 'fuel region'. That might be a valley that has a lot
of agricultural waste pressed into cylinders, side of a hill where split
wool and sticks are the fuel of choice or top of a mountain where dung
mixed with leaves-twigs are used. They sample the fuel from 100 houses,
break them up to stove sized pieces, air dry, mix them, then seal in air
tight plastic in 'stove sized unit weights'. Perhaps 4 kg bundles(?).
Send in a few bundles to several analytical labs for testing. (moisture,
volatile solids, ash, particle density, charred fuel density, energy of
fuel, energy of charred fuel). This lab report is included with each
bundle that is sent to Aprovecho and others doing stove testing and to
stove designers that want their stove chosen for the fuel region.
Regards
Frank
