[Stoves] Food vs Fuel or Food and Fuel

We need clean burning, inexpensive stoves now, and all here that work on the
issue need more support, encouragement and appreciation. Smart, caring
folks (you) also need to hear/speak about the realities of the earth
carrying capacity...an issue we hear nothing about in the US media.

Fact...Two billion people on the planet when I was born, now there are 6.6
billion...in one lifetime. How many people do we expect the planet to
support, even with perfect biomass stoves and low impact lifestyles? I would
encourage this group of smart, creative folks to talk publicly about the
issue as the topic of food/fuel continues to rise...but perhaps not on the
stoves list. ;) Sorry, if this is too far off topic.

Subject: [Stoves] Re biofuel

Dear George Riegg.
You are right, food is not fuel. But for sure fuel is needed to prepare the
food. And there are plenty of fuel into waste from agriculure and forestry
related activities, treated the right way, moste of it will be exelent
household fuel in efficient clean burning stoves. I think bioenergy and
fuel-efficient stoves are keyword in this discussion. You will save fuel,
save land, save the forest, improve the environment, improve the health and
create income-generating jobs and that is what's needed.
When half of the month salary goes for fuel and the rest is not enough for
food.for millions of people around the world the discussion has to be
brought down tom that level. What we need is simple efficient clean burning
stoves and cheap biomass fuel which both can be poduced locally by local
resources. But for some it is easier to send a rocket to the moon than slove
simple problems on the earth.
