Do you HAVE to sample the gas at high temperatures ? I use special
things called "Nernst Cells" in my professional work, designing
scientific instruments, and I can buy them VERY cheaply (<60 USD each) -
the outputs are linear with gas concentrations, and they are available
sensitis(z)ed to O2, CO, CO2, CH4 and others.
Electrically the output is not terribly easy to handle, but needs fairly
minimal electronics, once you know what you are doing. The output from
up to 8 different cells can be recorded for much less than 400 USD, the
conditioning electronics would cost about 30-40 USD per cell, tops.
