Dear Lanny
Glad to have you interest.
>Will the fuel be briquettes or loose coal?
Loose coal. You could determine the size. At the moment it is large lumps.
>How much coal per hour is 5 KW?
Assume that you want to burn a maximum of 1 kg per hour. If it is 1/2 a kilo
to 1 kilo it is ideal.
>Could I get a reference burner or photos so I could build one to have a
>starting point?
I can send you pictures. It is really easy to make. It took me 3 hours to
locate the parts at a junk yard and build it.
>Being a space heater makes the design easier because there is time for a
>system to reach equilibrium.
Yup. Mass is not an issue.
>What is the location for use?
Basically inside a round tent with a central metal chimney. A 'yurt' as we
call them is a 'ger' in Mongolia. Hundreds of thousands of people live in
them all year. They are 5 to 9 metres in diameter. Many people are building
small wooden houses, some even using brick. The heating demand is about the
same.

Crispin
