[Stoves] carbonates in Ash

Stovers,
Just running some samples I find about 4 % carbon in the ash as 
carbonates. Should this carbon be taken off the carbon in the wood when 
calculating  energy  produced from the wood? and should there be an 
additional loss of energy in making the CO3 ?    Not much in this sample 
but I have seen some ash with a lot.  I think ash with high salts 
(manures and bamboo etc) will have a lot more than the 4% found here.
