You are quite right to ask that question about too much heat extraction.

There is a Koran coal briquette stove available from Yontan or Yontang,
something like that. I couldn't find the home website.

It has the very problem you anticipate in that its radiation efficiency is
so high it collects water in the chimney elbow and because it is quite hot,
the elbow rusts away in 2 or 3 months if it is not stainless steel.

The gases should be rejected above 100 C if they can be, unless it is for a
brief time and you don't mind the mess.
