I don't have any experience with torrefied pellets, but my guess is that 
they would work fine in a TLUD but may be difficult to get lit. TLUDs 
mainly depend on the surface char reaction for the "primary burn" once 
they're going. The proof is in the pudding though, so once you get some 
of these pellets and try it, let us know what happened.
