A new HEDON Special Interest Group has been launched today on
Productive Use of Renewable Energy. A starting up discussion will be
held within the next weeks on the role of energy in rural income
generation - sign up NOW to participate! This specific session is a
follow up to the meeting a group of 15 experts had at SDC in Delhi on
13 February, related to research performed by Annemarije Kooijman in
the Indian Himalayas.

=== PRODUCTION OF ENERGY FROM SUGARCANE BAGASSE ===
Victory Bungoma youth group has developed a project that uses
sugarcane bagasse to generate electricity. Already we have
indentified  land and where to get raw material (sugarcane bagasse).
What we are looking for now is partner organization who will assist
in purchasing a co-generation.The project seeks to adress energy
security in our country by providing energy to off-grid areas and has
way of combating global warming.

and fuel-efficient stoves. I would like to know from the membership if

primary fuel in Johannesburg - preferably in Africa
