Something that taught me a lot was getting (fortunately) a piece of that
Baldosa tile from El Salvador. There was a series of people involved from
Salvadoran potter to South African ceramics lab technician. Much more to
come in a while when I can write it properly.
IMPORTANT: can someone get me a 50 gm sample of the _unfired_ Baldosa tile
that comes from the same place as that tile did?
I am not sure who brought the tile to ETHOS. I want to nail down the
molecular composition of the tile before it is fired. It is not possible to
unfire it so we don't know what the molecular makeup was, only the relative
proportions of the elements. We are onto something important it seems,
related to low cost clay parts for stoves.
Any helpers?
Thanks
Crispin
