[Stoves] ETHOS history

Dear Samer,

Well, ETHOS was started by Dr. Mark Bryden, Don O'Neal, and me with others
at Aprovecho where we held the first two meetings. Mark contacted Aprovecho
to see what kind of research we were doing on stoves and he became a
frequent visitor. Dr. Tami Bond, Dr. Dale Andreatta, Stuart Conway were also
'founding' members as ETHOS grew. Aprovecho did the paperwork to register
ETHOS as a non profit and we have continued to support the organization as
it has grown. The idea of creating collaborations that link town and gown
(NGOs and researchers) seems to work. You can call me for more info at the
