Yes this is a good one, a form of heat pipe, I'd be slightly more
worried about safety though. I guess one would try to run it below
atmospheric pressure, which implies an overall height of more than 10
metres. Isn't there still the implication that the boiler should be at
the bottom of the system? Otherwise the heat needs to be bled of to
condense the water?? unless a simple pump refills the boiler with
condensate.
I know these single pipe systems were used with the early high rise
buildings in US but I have only read of them, it'll be up to John
Davies to decide whether this part of the thread is getting spurious,
his clients probably can't spend more than a few dollars on anything
for space heating.
