Dear All
I have a list of Siegert values for a number of European countries from
http://www.termoservis.co.yu/mru/pdf/ENG_User_manual_Delta2000CD.pdf
and several of them list 19.4% as the CO2 max for dry wood.
Belgium Dry wood 19.4
UK and Russia Dry wood 19.4
France Bois sec 19.4
Italy Legna asciutta 19.4
Netherlands, not listed
Norway, Ved Toerr - is that dry wood? 20.5
Austria Holtz trocken 19.4
Poland drewno suche 20.5
Chechia Suche Drevo 20.5
Hungary Holtz trocken 20.5
USA Wood, dry 19.4
Perhaps where certain species dominate there is a higher carbon fraction in
the wood.
I think I will have to go with 19.4% until further notice.
Ideas and numbers welcome...
Incidentally I have a general case formula for calculating the air demand of
a fuel which some might find interesting:
Pounds of air per Pound of fuel =
11.5C + 34.2 (H2-O2/8) + 4.3 S
Where C, H2, O2 and S are the fractions, by weight, of each chemical
constituent of the fuel.
Regards
Crispin
