Dear PCIA Partners and Friends,

The 2009 PCIA Forum is shaping up to be an exciting and full event with more
than 200 participants from 42 countries already registered. Don't miss this
unique opportunity to energize and equip yourself and others with the
knowledge, tools and resources to significantly expand the results of your
household energy program.

Ever wonder what happened to your colleagues from the 2007 PCIA Forum? Read
about them in the just released 18th edition of the PCIA Bulletin now
available for download at: www.PCIAonline.org/Bulletin
<http://iaq.custhelp.com/rd?1=AvcG~wr~Cv8SwkD9GpQe~yKFJv8q~6v~&2=1741> .

In this issue, we highlight the outstanding work being done by our 2007
Forum award-winning Partners. Since the 2007 Forum, PCIA membership has
doubled from 120 organizations to 240 organizations, representing 52
countries and working in 115 countries across the globe! The innovation and
hard work of the Partners highlighted in this issue is generating great
results and you'll be able to learn from their successful approaches. For
example, read the Bulletin to hear from Dr. A.D. Karve and Dr. Priyadarshini
Karve (Appropriate Rural Technology Institute) on their development of
charcoal from agricultural waste and the design of a cooking system to use
this charcoal. Read about the efforts of several of your colleagues to
establish and build sustainable business models for improved cook stove
sales and distribution. Take a quiz to test your knowledge of the latest
progress being made on indoor air pollution. And, find a listing of upcoming
household energy use, indoor air pollution, and health related events.

Don't forget, you can apply
<http://iaq.custhelp.com/rd?1=AvcG~wr~Cv8SwkD9GpQe~yKFJv8q~6v~&2=1742> to
win an award yourself for the 2009 Forum! The application deadline has been
extended to January 30, 2009.

The 2009 Forum registration deadline has also been extended to January 30,
2009, so if you haven't already done so, there's still time to register for
this one-of-a-kind international event
<http://iaq.custhelp.com/rd?1=AvcG~wr~Cv8SwkD9GpQe~yKFJv8q~6v~&2=1743> .
Margaret Owino (Solar Cookers International) says of the 2009 Forum, "We all
make up the strong, reliable 240 member team working to improve aspects of
household energy and health. Your absence at the Forum will make our team
lose! Let's meet, share, and energize one another!"
