[Strawbale] Pex supply lines in SB walls?

I do not wish to run water or elec lines in the walls
very much; at least minimumally. I do not understand
the energy flows involved. regardless of where the
water lines are (in the floors [also minimumally] or
in the ground outside the house or in the trees above
the house) It would seem to be beneficial to keep them
insulated well. I am discussing it in this detail
because I am hoping to learn something, such as that
it is overkill to insulate all the pipes or that I
could make my own high quality insulation out of a
mixture of horse manure and expandand sand [perlite],
or?
I am not building a green project yet, nor do I know
were I will build. I am doing an extensive
conventional [with some green energy aspects and
regard for material used] residendtual remodel in
north Portland, OR
