If you put Portland in it it will make it more brittle and apt to crack. But, please, don't take my word for it, find out for yourself.

Subject: [Strawbale] paint on outside in side of stucco

We will be stuccoing soon. 2 coats will be sprayed on inside and
  outside. Our formula will be:

  1 part lime
  1 part portland
  5 parts sand

I will be using silicote paint on the outside of the house because it is
a breathable paint. Should I or can i also use this on the inside? I
have been advised that regular latex paint is fine on the inside because
it will keep water vapor from going from the inside out through the
walls and that the breathability aspect applies only to the outside of
  the structure. Any suggestions/ feedback?

  Thanks,

  Scott
