Polystyrene may be made from vinyl and benzene, that doesn't mean it is 
vinyl and benzene.  Salt is made from sodium and chlorine (ok. sort of 
made from), two toxins.  I don't know the chemistry. but it is 
important.  Producing one relatively harmless substance out of two 
toxins would be a win, I think.
