When I was studying up on OSHA regs for scaffolding they showed some 
pictures of  huge bamboo scaffolding structures along side high rise 
buildings in Asia. The bamboo was lashed together. It was an awesome sight. 
Even more amazing was how they "took down"  the scaffolding... They burn it 
down.
