[Strawbale] Stucco overhead?

If your plaster is not sticking well over head it may be because the mix is
too sandy or that the lath or mesh you are plastering to is not installed
with enough space behind it to create a hanging mesh. I caution against
getting something to stick that really does not want to as it will
eventually find its way down either while drying or in years to come as it
separates from the substrate. It is best to make sure your mix is right
(enough clay or lime) to make the material sticky and that your lath has
some space behind it so that it can act as a hanging attachment point for
the plaster.

When I plastered over my windows I found a broad knife to be best. I
used a 5 inch one and put the 1st coat on in dabs. It was the
quickest and it stuck best.
