Ma Nat has wildfires as a means of housecleaning to get rid of accumulated
detritus, to allow for continued health of the remaining species and to
allow for new life to emerge.

Come wildfire time, Skillful Meany does housecleaning and throws out a
bunch of accumulated stuff he didn't need.

Meany mirrors Nature. Nice symmetry. Eh ?

I suppose that's another point to support the notion of Building Small.

It forces one to be more discerning about the material goods that one
acquires and sequesters over one's lifetime, a point that was espoused by
the noted philosopher from the Heepee Era of the previous millennium,
George Carlin.
