Hmmmmmm...Interesting tidbit here.. enough to bring me out of Deep Lurk..

Actually the power issue does not have to be a huge one.. worked where we
had to record our curing oven temps for each 24 hour period.. we simply had
a circle graph attached to the sensor needle that traced the temp each day..
it was a primarily mechanical piece made just for that sort of problem if
the power went off it was easy to tell where and for how long since a 30 by
40 foot oven doesn't cool down very fast so if there was a straight down
spike we just checked it according to time and reset the time the next
morning...ok moisture spikes are going to require a much slower reading but
I would imagine that would be ok..and with the unbelievable new technology
of UnInteruptible Power Supply systems..ok they are far from remarkable or
new!.. there is really no excuse for loss of data even with a digital PC
based tracking system ..except for the period of time the power was out
which should be a negligible amount of time in the moisture sensing sense I
would think..
OK..I guess what I am saying is that IF you use a UPS system the data
shouldn't be lost.. either from a moisture sensor or a word processing
program.. of course that depends on setting up the "gizmology" properly..
and I thought UPS's were pretty easy to use..
Ok nuff for now..fwiw and all that rot..
