How about if we start by coining the term 'alizoqueros' to mean 'those 
who apply aliz/ earthen plasters," and work backwards from there?

To my ears, Albuquerque sounds a bit smoother (ahem) than Alburquerque, 
as (ahem) there isn't that burr under the saddle... :-)
