Some numbers WRT still air and moving air...

The enginoids at ASHRAE tell us that:

================= * =======================================
STILL AIR vertical surface, heat flow horizontal,
R = 0.68

MOVING AIR (any position)
15-mph wind, (winter) R = 0.17
7.5 mph wind (summer) R = 0.25

(units for "R"  =  (hr* ft^2 * degrees(Fahrenheit)) / Btu  )
================= * ==========================================
