We are planning to install a 3 ton heat pump that is
integrated with a electrostatic air cleaner thats has
a purpose of cooling a well insulated 3 story house in
summer, providing fresh air and reducing humidity to
the hydronic heated structure (house) that tend to
have more humidity problems than central heating
systems (especially with all the leaky PEX - just
kidding). I was finding it hard to follow why my
advisor didn't want to integrate the air systems. I
have a train switching yard near by and a high volume,
low tech cabinet building and painting factory (often)
up wind from my house, so the air cleaner being
integrated into the system would be a plus in my
situation, other wise the advise was to have air
inlets in each room in an out of the way location
where dust might settle out of the air prior to
circulating further into the house ... I have not read
up on these systems and scratch my head in my spare
time. Perhaps I could hook the central vaccum directly
to air vents and keep the house dust free that way-
sorry, I guess I am in one of those moods.
