I find that here in North America, tankless water heaters are a choice not a 
given.

The normal North American use of hot water is very different then most of 
the world. They want and expect it to flow freely and at will.

Most people who love their tankless operate under different expectations. 
I will more often than not wash hands with cold water than turn on the hot. I 
love that my tankless (with remote) only heats water to the temp I want and 
I therefore do not need to add cold to cool it down. We are not home 24 
hours a day, so there is no need for keeping water hot when not needed.
I love that we heat only the gallons we use (not a whole tank). I love that it 
modulates and ony burns at a rate needed to heat the incoming water to the 
outgoing temp I need.

I give up hot water right away at the tap. I put up with the cold water in 
bump from turning  the water off and on during use that are right after each 
other.  Each person should chose what works for
them.
