Hi Erica,
I might be off base and I do not know if David meant
to be condescending by putting green in quotations.
Recently I posted, on another list, a note about the
use of green because it can mean so many different
things; using low toxic materials, using materials
that were harvested in an eco friendly manor, an
energy efficient design, an eco friendly design, a
greenhouse or ... and ... don't forget the color, so
unless you are talking about a green (color) house I
think quotes (if not more) are called for, no offense
intended. I don't intend to stop the use of green by
myself or or recommend others stop. I believe green
represents an improved intent in design and
construction from the recent past when such little
emphasis on these aspects of building was used.
Green's popularity is a really big deal compared to
the minor missunderstandings from unclear
communication that it's use bound to lead to.
Cheers,
Shody
