Hi Freelin,
<shameless self-promotion>
Some years ago we noted that scenarios like this were likely to start
occurring with more frequency, considering the number of
green/natural/etc homes that were going up. Eventually, we figured,
some of these houses would come on the market due to job changes,
marriages/divorces, empty nests, expanding families, etc etc.
So we built an online Green Real Estate classifieds system to
accommodate such a need.
Trust me, this is more a service to the community than a get rich
quick scheme! We do charge a whopping $10 per listing, but you can
leave it up there indefinitely for that cost as long as you check in
monthly.
We've been planning a major overhaul of the site for some time now,
just haven't gotten to it yet.
List your home at http://greenbuilder.com/realestate/. The photo
upload is broken at the moment, just email your photo to me at this
address.
I can't promise miracles, but one house had a contract within 48
hours of listing. (others sit for quite a while... there are a lot of
factors)
<END self-promotion>
Aside from that, the best thing you can do is work your contacts.
Know anyone in any sort of environmental groups in your area?
Promote it to them. Any hippy back to nature types? If its likely to
work for that crowd, let 'em know it exists. San Diego area should
have some networks, see what you can find. Post it at the local
health food store(s) or health food mega groceries or whatever you
have there.
And don't be afraid to use a realtor. Ask your greenie friends who
they'd recommend - it's likely that there are several green-leaning
realtors in the area. EcoBroker.com shows one in La Mesa and two in
Encinitas.
Best of luck.
