[Strawbale] strawboard for kitchens?

we are/were interested in using strawboard for our kitchen cupboards. they 
did come from a company in manitoba (DOW BioProducts) and is straw as 
opposed to wood. they use natural non-toxic resins as glue or binder instead 
of glues that OSB and plywoods use, which offgas.

when we looked into buying some, the company said they no longer produce it 
and the woman talked to didn't know why.  recently, DOW bought the company 
and we were wondering why they would have discontinued it. any theories on 
why and does anybody know if this product is available from another company?
