[Strawbale] Wood Peckers & Strawbale

Has any one had problems with Wood Peckers causing havoc on your strawbale
home? Our strawbale is now 5 years old and this is the second time we've
experienced these birds trying to infiltrate the structure. The latest
episode is a male and female perhaps attempting to nest in the rafters of
our beams. We devised a sheet metal flashing so they can't hang on the beam
but then they moved to the front side of the house. They seem to be
determined to commandeer our house and you can imagine the kind of damage
they can do.

 

Have any of you experienced this? Any thoughts or suggestions would be much
appreciated.
