[Strawbale] Wood Peckers & Strawbale

Hi Kyle,

Thanks for posing this question to the list! I do not
know the answer, I live in a city. Perhaps this
question could be posed to a wild life list, if no
answers are forth coming...
I have a question to the list about this. Could a well
insullated wood pecker house be built close by and
installed in a safe (from preditors) location for the
wood peckers to move into? Would it be good for trees
in the area to have the disease causing beatles
removed by these beneficial animals instead of seeing
them as a problem? A lot of people may not realize
that insect eating birds and bats make life a lot more
pleasent for humans ... and it is kind of nice to see
wild animals and have them as cared-for neighbors. If
a wood pecker thinks that he belongs in a peticular
area, could it be that there is an abundance of tree
paracites there?
