[Strawbale] Cable chase under bales

We commonly use 3x or 4x plates under the bales, as required for our anchors
and stapling of mesh. This provides plenty of space for running electrical,
plumbing and hydronic feeds, but is limited because of doorways. We'll
often run supply lines in the slab, then bring them up in the bale wall.

I have done this with areas that require a small pony wall under the bales.
I would not do it in the small space provided in a standard toe up. When
building a small pony wall, however, it is great and really speeds the
installation of the wiring and also provides space for running plumbing
lines!

A while back, someone wrote about using the space under the bales as
a chase to run electrical cables. Did anyone actually do that? If
so, did you also put the outlets in the side of the chase? How was it
built?

thanks,
dion
