I've worked with those. They're 1" thick and whatever width you choose. 
We used the wood grain ones on one house. Nice.
I put 3 coats of water based exterior latex paint on them and they look 
great. I also now know to not paint in the rain...:-)
Great stuff, but relatively expensive.On the other hand, they won't need 
to be replaced for a minimum of 50 years, or whatever the warranty 
period is,  and probably several hundred, so they are actually less 
expensive. Especially if you used good quality galvanized or stainless 
steel  fasteners (nails) and seal over the holes before painting.
