Bruce doesnt say what he means by "cement". Does he
mean Portland cement or is he referring to a mix of
lime and portland (readily available in Canada in
either a blue or a purple bag, one or the other
 ) I
wonder, as what would one use to describe the contents
of said bag if not "cement" ? Plaster possibly? Then
Bruce would have said plaster wouldnt he? But does
Bruce know that plaster cannot be called cement and
vicky verca I wonder? I think he does (referring to
his action as plastering with Portland cement
incorrectly notwithstanding) And rightly called what
he put on his walls cement as it was Portland cement
/sand only and not plaster ? THEREFORE Bruce did not
"plaster" his walls he parged them with cement didn't
he?

Therefore Bruce did not plaster.

Semantics they gurgled and perhaps so but as Bruce and
others might decide the use of terminology can confuse
things

So to clarify things I politely enquire of the
community at large

Is it now acceptable to parge straw bales with
portland cement/sand alone and call the material
plaster?

Is Portland/sand cement the preferred choice of
material (regional quirks allowed for) for plastering
straw bales?

Is it possible to call the "traditional" Canadian
mortar mix Portland/Lime/sand mix "plaster" these
days?
